Birth date: Your date of birth, required to generate your natal (birth) chart and Soul Archetype.
Birth time: Your time of birth, used for precise natal chart calculations including house placements and Rising sign.
Birth location: Your city or location of birth, required for accurate chart calculations based on geographic coordinates.
Chat messages: Messages you send to the AI Oracle feature. These are used to generate personalized responses and improve the accuracy of your cosmic guidance over time.
Intentions and journal entries: Content you create within the Moon Manifestation and ritual features.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Device information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers.
Usage data: App features used, session duration, interaction patterns, and feature engagement metrics.
Analytics data: Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics to help us improve the App.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect your precise real-time location (GPS).
We do not access your contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.
We do not collect payment information directly — all subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Natal chart generation: Your birth date, time, and location are used to calculate your astrological birth chart, which powers all personalized features.
Soul Archetype generation: Your chart data is used to generate your unique Soul Archetype.
AI Oracle responses: Your chat messages and birth chart data are used to generate personalized Oracle responses.
Daily readings: Your natal chart is used to calculate personalized daily transit readings.
App personalization: Your data is used to customize your experience, including compatibility readings, rituals, and cosmic tasks.
Service improvement: Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us understand how features are used and improve the App.
Communication: If you provide your email, we may send essential service updates, account-related notices, or optional newsletters (with your consent).

3. Third-Party Services

ALIGNED uses the following third-party services to operate:

3.1 Firebase (Google)

We use Firebase, a service provided by Google LLC, for:

Authentication: Secure user account creation and sign-in (Firebase Authentication).
Data storage: Your profile data, chart information, and chat history are stored in Firebase Firestore.
Analytics: Firebase Analytics collects anonymized usage data to help us understand App engagement.

3.2 OpenAI

The AI Oracle feature uses OpenAI's API to generate personalized responses. When you send a message to the Oracle:

Your message and relevant birth chart context are sent to OpenAI's servers to generate a response.
OpenAI processes this data in accordance with their API data usage policies.
As of our last review, OpenAI does not use API inputs to train their models. Please refer to OpenAI's current usage policies for the most up-to-date information.

3.3 Apple (App Store)

Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple's App Store and In-App Purchase system. We do not receive or store your payment details. Apple processes all transactions and manages billing, renewals, and cancellations.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Firebase Firestore, which provides encryption at rest and encryption in transit (TLS/SSL).
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only, on a need-to-know basis.
While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
Chat history with the Oracle is retained to provide conversation continuity and improved personalization.
If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: You may request that we correct any inaccurate personal data.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where our third-party service providers (Firebase, OpenAI) operate servers. By using the App, you consent to such transfers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers.

Our website (alignedcosmos.com) is a static site and does not use cookies or tracking technologies. We do not serve advertising on our website. If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.
